ASHLEIGH + CHRIS

Ashleigh and Chris met in 2016 at a bar in Richmond after an AFL game. They are both mad Melbourne Demons supporters and were commiserating over another loss with their separate groups of friends. Ashleigh noticed Chris was wearing a Melbourne scarf on the dance floor and they just started chatting about the game. As they say, the rest is history.

Chris proposed at Diamond Bay in Sorrento on a beautiful January afternoon. This place is really special to the couple as they used to spend a lot of time on the Mornington Peninsula. After the proposal on the beach, Chris had organised for their families to celebrate that afternoon, so everyone was in on the surprise, making the day one of the happiest of their lives.

Ashleigh is a very organised person so she and Chris set about doing the planning up front and booking vendors in as soon as they were engaged. This made the process much easier as they could sit tight knowing everything was organised for the big day. They fortunately had amazing vendors – all who provided guidance and support along the way and were easy to deal with. Their wedding coordinator Candice from Provenance Wines was instrumental in making their vision come to life and even became a friend of the bride and the groom.

The busiest period was around the month before the wedding where all the vendors required decisions and final details to be set in place. Ashleigh and Chris really put their all into planning every minute detail of the 120-guest wedding and they feel it really showed and paid off.

Ashleigh and Chris’s wedding style was moody and romantic. The ceremony space they had at Provenance Wines just oozed the right vibes and they were beyond happy that all their vendors nailed the brief.

In terms of outfits, Ashleigh and Chris are not formal people and wanted to feel comfortable and look great. Their rule was not moving too far away from who they are as people day to day.
