JESS + JORDAN

Jess and Jordan met at their first job in 2013. They were both working at Coles where Jess was in the Service department and Jordan was in Fresh Produce. Jess and her friend both spotted Jordan working one day and she encouraged Jess to find him on social media. After months of trying to find Jordan on Facebook, Jess located his profile. He messaged her and the rest is history. The best part about the beginning of their relationship is they are still great friends with lots of people they worked with back at Coles and the supermarket now has a special place in their hearts for having met there and for all the amazing friendships formed.

Jordan proposed to Jess in November 2021. She had just finished university and to celebrate they went to Ocean Grove to rest and unwind after a busy time. On the way down, Jess found out she got her dream job. The next morning Jordan said that he wanted to go for a walk along the beach – which isn’t Jordan’s ideal way to unwind – so Jess had a little idea that it was happening. They walked for a little bit then he stopped and proposed.

The wedding planning process was seamless. Jack Rabbit Vineyard and the other vendors were so easy to deal with and made everything so simple and easy. The only stress Jess had was the morning of the wedding when a few people pulled out due to having COVID-19 but a few calls later they were able to fill their spaces with other friends.

Jess and Jordan had 94 guests which made the event the perfect size. It wasn’t too big or too small and they could intimately talk to all their guests.

Rustic and boho but also romantic were the main style directions chosen by the couple. Jess wanted to ensure the wedding had an element of themselves, so she asked her students to create some cards about what love means to them and scattered them on the tables.

Jess opted for a floral lace wedding dress with an ivory underlay. She wanted a wedding dress that was off-white and when she tried it on, she just fell in love with it. Jordan’s suit was a sand-coloured jacket with black chino pants. His suit was lined with pictures of the couple’s gorgeous daughter, Sadie. Unfortunately she was unable to attend the wedding as she can be a little over excited with lots of people and the suit was her parents’ special way of having her there.

Jess and Jordan loved every part of the day, especially taking photos in the vineyard and having their first dance. They did dance lessons so it was lots of fun showing everyone what they had achieved. Jordan’s memorable moment was seeing the bride walking down the aisle.

Being able to laugh, dance and drink with their closest people in the world but also taking some time for themselves to take in their special day were the main priorities for Jess and Jordan. They loved every second of their wedding and felt so lucky with everything going so smoothly.

Words of wisdom for engaged couples. “Try to relax and enjoy this moment. Don’t focus on planning the wedding so quickly. Enjoy being engaged and spending time with each other celebrating.”
