JESSICA + JAKE

Jessica and Jake’s love story began nearly 14 years ago, when Jessica was 17 and Jake was almost 20. The pair first met at a friend’s 18th birthday party in Torquay and from the moment they met there was an undeniable connection. It felt like love at first sight and just a month and a half later, they officially began dating.

Since those early days, Jessica and Jake have built a beautiful life together. Over the years they have built two homes, shared countless memories and, most importantly, welcomed two beautiful boys, Jaxon, now seven and Bowie, five.

Their boys would later play a particularly special role in one of the biggest moments of their parents’ lives. After years of hoping that the time would eventually come, Jessica arrived home one day to find Jake and their two boys down on one knee. With Jaxon and Bowie beside him, Jake asked Jessica to marry him.

Jessica had wanted to be married for a long time but life had other plans for the couple before the proposal finally arrived. Once Jake had popped the question, however, Jessica was determined to embrace every part of the wedding planning journey. Before they had even settled on a date, she headed dress shopping with her mum during a sale, simply for a little fun. As fate would have it, the very first dress she tried on was the one.

From there, the planning began. Jessica and Jake envisioned a wedding that reflected their love of classic, timeless style. Soft-coloured flowers complemented the elegant setting while Jake looked dapper in a bow tie, matched by their two boys.

Choosing a Thursday wedding meant keeping the celebration intimate with just 45 of their closest family members and friends in attendance. For Jessica and Jake, having a smaller gathering meant they could spend more of their precious wedding day surrounded by the people who mattered most rather than rushing from one moment to the next.

Of all the memories created throughout the day, one stood above the rest — watching their boys walk down the aisle carrying the wedding rings. Having Jaxon and Bowie there to witness their mummy and daddy officially become husband and wife made the moment even more meaningful.

Looking back, there is not a single thing Jessica and Jake would change. To them, the day was perfect — a celebration of their relationship, their family and the life they have created together.

For other couples planning their own wedding, Jessica’s advice is simple — over-prepare. She believes organisation is key, allowing couples to relax, smile and truly soak up every moment when the big day finally arrives. She also encourages couples not to compare their wedding or budget with anyone else’s. A beautiful celebration does not have to come with a huge price tag — staying true to who you are as a couple is what makes a wedding truly magical.

For Jessica, the day was ultimately a celebration of everything she is most grateful for — the love she shares with Jake and the beautiful family they have created together.
