REAL WEDDING
MADISON + DANIEL
PHOTOGRAPHY | JACOB HESTON WEDDINGS
Madison and Daniel had known each other for a long time before their love story began. They met in high school when Maddy moved school in year 8 and Daniel was the first person to introduce himself to the new classmate. They were together on and off in the last year of school and somehow, they knew they were meant to be. They now have 12 years of friendship and for them life is just as fun and beautiful as it was when they were kids.
The proposal happened at London Bridge Lookout, Portsea, during the Easter break in April 2022. The big question was followed by lots of crying and screaming and an enthusiastic YES.
The wedding planning process was not very stressful as Madison and Daniel already knew what vendors they wanted. However, their short engagement made it a little difficult to ensure that everyone was available. The couple decided to get married on Sunday to secure their favourite suppliers, and as a result they managed to book everything in just 2 weeks! Another strategy they used to make sure everything would run smoothly was to book vendors that had all worked together previously and got along well, using recommendations from their helpful celebrant, Kahani. Kahani also served as an MC and her loving, beautiful and bubbly personality just left everyone laughing and in awe of such a beautiful day it was.
The 130-guest cocktail reception took place at Rocklea Farm, a venue the couple booked without even seeing it in person. Madison had done her research long before being engaged and was certain this was the place where she wanted to tie the knot. Rocklea Farm inspired them to plan a modern rustic-style wedding, with lots of greenery and flowers.
Rachelle from The Posie Place did wonders with just a few pictures from Madison and the modern look was made complete with furniture from Memphis Hire (rattan stools, white bar table).
Guests were free to feast on the goodies from the delicious food truck and continued the party by rocking the big dance floor brought to life by experienced DJs.
Madison wore a low V-cut dress with plunging neckline and illusion tulle sides from Made With Love Bridal. The gown had a fitted silhouette designed with a floral ivory lace and a subtle train and tulle bow attachments to the shoulder straps, as well as tulle wings instead of a veil. Daniel wore a 2-piece linen beige suit (jacket and vest) from Menz Club with a white pleated shirt and contrasting black buttons, black pants, bowtie and shoes.
The most memorable moment of the wedding was saying their personalised vows – although Daniel is not the type who displays a lot of emotion, his words made many of the guests cry. They also loved their couple portrait photo session, as this was the only time when they could just be together. The bride and the groom wanted a day filled with emotions, tears, and joy and it certainly was that.
Madison and Daniel share the following words of wisdom with couples planning their wedding: BE YOURSELF, enjoy the day and go with the flow! To give more precise advice, couples should ideally book vendors who coordinate with each other well because the day will be perfect when everyone works together efficiently. There will always be some little hiccups, but they don’t change the big picture.
