When Jess and Hayden Scott first briefly met at the age of 16, little did they realise a few years would pass before they would meet again. After much persistence from Hayden, the couple began dating in 2009.

It was on their six-year anniversary in August 2015 that Jess, who was six months pregnant at the time with their first child, came home to find the house in darkness and the hallway decorated with balloons. Hayden had purchased a baby jumpsuit that read ‘Marry my Daddy’ and before Jess knew what was happening, Hayden was down on one knee proposing.

After a long engagement, and welcoming their second daughter to the family, the couple finally set the date of November 14, 2020 for their long-awaited wedding. Alas Covid-19 had other plans and the couple endured a stressful time rescheduling all of their suppliers. Jess found it hard to organise dress fittings for the bridal party and was unable to run through any plans at the venue due to lockdown restrictions.

Finally on February 6, 2021 in front of 55 wedding guests, Jess and Hayden became husband and wife at the picturesque Rocklea Farm wedding venue located at Stonehaven.

Looking beautiful in a Herve Paris gown from Foreverness Bridal Boutique and flat shoes from Billini, Jess wed partner Hayden who opted for a relaxed look, wearing a suit from Eddy Elias with comfortable chino pants and boat shoes.

One of the most memorable moments of their big day was when Hayden sang Slide by the Goo Goo Dolls to his new bride. As an acoustic musician, Hayden had always joked that he would sing on their wedding day.

The couple wanted to create a relaxed wedding where they could spend time with their loved ones without any pressure and enjoy their day.

Jess highly recommends creating a Pinterest board to help with your planning. Mix ‘n’ match pictures of your flowers, cake, dresses and invitations to ensure you create a cohesive look and feel for your wedding. Share the page with your wedding planner so they can add their professional advice.
